Equinor is a broad energy company with more than 21,000 employees committed to developing oil, gas, wind, and solar energy in 30 countries worldwide.
As an international operator of exploration activities, oil and gas installations, refineries, gas plants and wind farms, we are committed to preventing harm to people, the environment, and the communities we are part of.
Our purpose is to turn natural resources into energy for people, and progress for society. We support the Paris agreement and the UN sustainability goals. By 2050 we aim to become a net-zero company, and to deliver the energy the world needs, without contributing to global warming.
In Equinor we recognise that the world’s energy systems must be transformed in a profound way to drive decarbonisation, while at the same time ensuring universal access to affordable and clean energy and achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
We acknowledge that global oil demand must be reduced, but even within the frames of the Paris Agreement, the world will depend on oil for many years to come. That’s why Equinor aims to explore for and produce oil and gas with as few emissions as possible, replacing coal with gas, and growing materially in renewable energy and developing low carbon solutions.
